Dear temporary member, welcome to Castiglion del Bosco Golf Club. Please find herewith the rules and regulations which are intended to be a brief guide to the use of the golfing, clubhouse and other facilities at Castiglion del Bosco Golf Club. They are not intended to deal with all conceivable issues that may be presented for governance. Castiglion del Bosco Golf Club reserves the right to formulate additional policies when deemed appropriate and necessary.

Guide Lines.
1st April 2011

  • 1. Dress Code  

    All players must wear appropriate golfing attire, including golf shoes. Denim is not permitted.

       
  • 2. Handicap Requirements  

    Players will be required to have a bona fide golf club handicap not exceeding 24 for gentlemen and 30 for Ladies.

       
  • 3.Clubs  

    All players must have a their own set of clubs, a limited number of sets are available to rent from Castiglion del Bosco Golf Club. The sharing of clubs is not permitted.

       
  • 4. Soft spikes  

    All golfers will be required to use 'soft spikes' approved by the director of golf. Soft spikes will be provided by the club at a cost of €15 per set. All golfers bringing previously worn shoes to the club must have the shoes cleaned by a member of staff before wearing them on the golf course or practice facilities..

       
  • 5. Starting Times  

    To ensure the smooth and efficient running of the club, we request you book your starting times as early as possible through the golf club services. By dialling 9/154 or have the guest services/concierge transfer you by dialling 9/120.

       
  • 6.Speed of play  

    A brisk pace of play is fundamental. Every match should keep pace with the preceding match, and all matches will be timed. To ensure that all can enjoy their game.

       
  • 7.Delays on Course  

    Golfers with an open hole ahead MUST WAVE THROUGH golfers who are being delayed.

       
  • 8.Staff Directions  

    Golfers must obey directions given by the director of golf and his professional staff, including directions to interrupt or cease play or to proceed to the next hole in cases where more than one hole trailing match is being delayed.

       
  • 9.Violations  

    Any golfer in violation of any these rules may be required to vacate the golf course.

       
  • 10. Practice Balls  

    Practice balls must NEVER be removed from the practice area for use on the golf course or otherwise. Members found doing so will be asked to immediately vacate the primacies.

       
  • 11. Use of Golf Cars  

    The use of golf cars is subject to weather conditions. Before driving any Castiglion del Bosco golf car, members and guests must sign a liability release form. Failure to do so will prohibit its use . Golf cars may be operated only by persons at least 18 years of age holding a valid driver's license.

       
  • 12.Weather Cancellations  

    In the event a guest round is rained-out with less than 9 holes played, no guest fee will be charged.

       
  • 13.Spectators and Personal Attendants  

    Spectators or personal attendants wishing to use the course or club facilities must gain approval in advance from the Director of Golf.

       
  • 14.Mobile Phones  

    Mobile phones can only be used strictly in accordance with the following conditions: Calls may only be made from the Car Park. Nowhere else on the premises are mobile phones permitted, including the turning circle, Practice Range or anywhere in the clubhouse and its exterior surrounds.

       
  • 15. Juniors and Cadets Programme  

    At full development of Castiglion del Bosco Golf Club and all its facilities, Castiglion del Bosco will be keen to encourage the development of our younger golfers, both in their proficiency in striking the ball and their knowledge of the time-honoured etiquette associated with playing the game. Juniors (ages 6 – 11) Must be accompanied by a parent at all times, and a parent may not supervise more than one junior at a time (i.e. one parent per junior). Access to the practice facilities and golf course will be on a limited basis and only after assessment by the golf professional and with prior permission of the director of golf and must be supervised by a member of staff. Cadets (ages 12 -18) Rules as for juniors apply until such time as the cadet has passed 'The Cadet Knowledge and Proficiency Test'. Cadets who have passed the test may play the course – with prior permission from the director of golf unaccompanied by a parent, either alone or with a fellow cadet who has also passed the test. # for further information on The Cadet Knowledge & Proficiency Test please contact the Golf Professional.

       

Rules Governing Children

  • 1. 

    Children are not permitted within the clubhouse or its environs except under direct supervision of the member parent(S). The areas concerned are the clubhouse , terrace, practice range, putting green. Whilst in the clubhouse, children are not permitted to wander.

       
  • 2. 

    It is always the member's responsibility to supervise children, including those of their guests.

       
  • 3. 

    By supervision it is meant to ensure that children do not cause any disruption to members' peaceful enjoyment of the clubhouse or to personnel in carrying out their duties safely and efficiently.

       
  • 4. 

    Respect for the privacy of other members and the sanctity of the club environment will be paramount.

       
  • 5. 

    Toys and games of any kind are not allowed to be brought to the clubhouse.

       
  • 6. 

    Children cannot be permitted to run / climb on the terrace, or platact in the vicinity of the practice range.

       
  • 7. 

    Children of non-family guests aren't allowed on the premises except with prior management permission.

       
  • 8. 

    Members whose children misbehave will be asked to leave the clubhouse and could be liable to having their membership terminated.

       

Golf Course and Clubhouse Hours of operation

  • 1. Practice Range  

    During the summer season the driving range will close no later than 6.45pm During winter it will close a minimum of one hour before dusk.

       
  • 2.Clubhouse Service Hours and Reservations  

    Services will be available from 7.00am in the summer, including breakfast; 8.00am in the winter. Bar menus will be available from 11.30am daily until the end of the golfing day.
